Only One Terrible Thing About The Terrible Two

February 22nd, 2016

Bottom line:

You’ve gotta love The Terrible Two, a funny, funny middle grade novel by Mac Barnett and Jory John, illustrations by Kevin Cornell. (Release date: 1/13/2015.)

It’s all about pranks and friendship and cows, and you don’t even need to like cows. Miles Murphy doesn’t. It’s not that he hates cows; he’s never had a reason to form an opinion about them. And then he’s forced to move to Yawnee Valley, “an idyllic place with rolling green hills that slope down to creeks, and cows as far as the eye can see.”

Leaving his home, where he was celebrated as prankster supreme? It’s about the worst thing that could happen to a kid … until he decides to stake his claim as Yawnee Valley’s best, and someone else begins outpranking him. What’s a kid to do? Ramp it up? Of course.

I see a huge following in this book’s future and yet, there is one thing I don’t like about The Terrible Two. I mean I really don’t like. It’s that I didn’t write it myself. But actually? Bravo to them!
